Photographer #1

Yesterday we met with Ben Powers of Powers Oregon at the West End Theatre in Portland.  First of all the West End Theatre is a really cool venue that I would have never known about.  It is on NW 12th and Taylor across from the Portland Clinic and right by 405.  

Anyway, the meeting went really well. Ben has developed this system online of how to select the best photographer (of their 8 or refer you to another) for your wedding.  It was kind of nerdy so of course we ate it up like candy.  

There are lots of perks choosing Powers, including an extra discount since we are getting married at VH.  Some other things that we liked were their photographers are VERY familiar with VH (90% of VH clients chose Powers) and Ben seemed very into getting to know his clients and told us that he was going to perfect the skill of vineyard photography by exclusively photographing Powers sites (VH, Aileron Hill, West End) by the end of the year.

An added benefit: he gave us a bottle of VH 2006 Pinot Noir after having a glass with us during the meeting.  Who would pass up a $40 bottle of wine for free.  I am really starting to like this company.

Next week we have a meeting with Craig MitchellDyer, another local photographer. There is also another photographer we are interested in who is located in Newberg.
